The yacht

Built in Italy. At home in Miami.

The Verve 48 is Azimut's open sports cruiser — a 15-metre day boat with a walk-around deck, a full beach-club stern and enough shade to make August pleasant. It is fast when you want speed and very quiet when you don't.

Destinations

Where the Verve 48 takes you

Your captain will read the wind and the tide on the day and steer you to the best version of the plan.

Nixon Sandbar

Waist-deep turquoise water off Key Biscayne, a raft-up of boats and music. The centre of gravity of a Miami weekend.

Star & Palm Island

A slow cruise past the waterfront estates of Biscayne Bay, with the downtown skyline behind them.

Stiltsville

Seven houses standing on pilings in the flats at the edge of Biscayne National Park. Nothing else looks like it.

Haulover & the Beaches

North along the sand to Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles — the run the Verado triple was built for.

Key Biscayne & Cape Florida

The lighthouse, the calm south-side anchorages and clear water for snorkelling.

Elliott Key & Beyond

On a full day, keep going south into Biscayne National Park where the crowds thin out entirely.

FAQ

Good questions, answered

How much does it cost to rent a boat in Miami?

On VIVA, rates start at $2,900 for a two-hour sunset cruise and $4,800 for a four-hour sandbar day, with full days from $9,200. Those are for the yacht itself — the captain and the fuel you burn are quoted on top, and we put both in writing before you commit. Prices across Miami vary enormously with the size and age of the boat; this is a 2024 49-footer with three 600 hp outboards, not a twenty-year-old pontoon.

How many guests can come aboard?

Up to 12 guests for a day charter, plus the captain and any crew. For overnights the Verve 48 sleeps four in two cabins.

Where do we depart from?

The home berth is on Miami Beach. Pickups from Downtown, Coconut Grove, Bal Harbour or a private dock can usually be arranged — tell us where you'd like to board and we'll confirm.

Can we bring our own food and drinks?

Yes. Bring whatever you like — we'll have the ice, coolers and glassware ready. We can also arrange catering, a raw bar or full bar service instead.

Can you put a Michelin-starred chef on board?

Yes, for $400 per guest. The chef cooks aboard at the cockpit wet bar and serves at anchor, so lunch happens on the water rather than at a dock. It needs arranging in advance — tell us your date, your numbers and anything you don't eat, and we'll build the menu around it.

What happens if the weather turns?

Safety decisions sit with the captain. If conditions make the charter unsafe, you can reschedule to another date at no charge or take a full refund of your deposit. Passing rain alone is not a cancellation — Miami storms usually move through in twenty minutes.

Are the captain and fuel included in the rate?

No. The rates quoted are for the yacht alone. A professional captain is required on every charter and is billed separately, and fuel is charged on what you actually burn — a slow day on the bay uses a fraction of what a run to the Keys does. We put both figures in writing with your quote, so there is no surprise at the dock.

Is a deposit required?

Yes — a signed charter agreement and a deposit hold your date. The balance is due before departure. We'll send both by email when we confirm availability.

Is gratuity included?

No. If the crew looked after you well, 15–20% of the charter fee is customary and always appreciated.

Are children welcome?

Very. Tell us their ages when you book and we'll have properly sized life jackets aboard.

How far in advance should we book?

For weekends in season, two to four weeks. Holiday weekends, Art Basel, the Boat Show and Spring Break go earlier than that. Mid-week dates are often available on short notice.

The bay is flat and the ice is in.

Tell us your date and we'll tell you what's open.
